Ultra-scale computation server of Tsinghua University

As one of the best universities in China, Tsinghua University is majored in science and engineering, whilst covering multiple other subjects. It is one of the vital bases of the country for high education, science research and technology development, responsible for cultivating advanced intelligent, achieving science research developments and promoting the national economy development.

Targeting at the project demand, based on its years of insight on science high performance applications, Inspur specially presented the high performance Tissot TS10000 cluster system base on the latest 32 nm process technology of Intel, the latest Intel® Xeon®5600 processor series and its next generation products that based on Intel micro architecture (code Westmere), which has outstanding computation performance, leading power consumption control, convenient administration and monitor system, open and extendible system, complete server system, etc. In addition, the widely appraised Inspur high performance cluster training service system will provide further benefits for the project.

Inspur presented the following solution with deep understanding to client demands: 740 blade computation nodes, one set of parallel file storage system (22 IO nodes + 8Gb FC disk array, 1000TB), with seven 2u dual-route rack servers as system administration, login, and task management server, plus 17 GPU computation nodes, one set of QDR Infiniband computation network, one set of 10000M + 1000M administration network, one set of IPMI special network and the software deployed wherein to make up the whole solution.


The following figure shows the system logic topology of the cluster system (actual topology should subject to the actual product), which consists of 740 blade computation nodes, one set of parallel file storage system (22 IO nodes + 8Gb FC disk array, 1000TB), with seven 2u dual-route rack servers as system administration, login, and task management server, plus 17 GPU computation nodes, one set of QDR Infiniband computation network, one set of10000M + 1000M administration network, one set of IPMI special network and the software deployed wherein.
